I've been working on the ESRPG and a few people have brought up the use of RP cash and I wanted to get a little consensus of the general thoughts on using it?
What is RP cash?
RP cash is a made up number of funds for an ESRPG stable or business (this is what we've been working on developing). It could be used for a number of things such as rewards for shows, boarding fees, vet fees, farrier fees, tack, feed and other stable expenses, lesson prices, etc.
However, these costs are entirely RP, meaning they're made up by the players. They would not be regulated by anyone other than the player, and would only be intended for adding depth to the existing gameplay (the theory is that players who want this extra challenge will have the integrity to manage it honestly). As such, there's really no "cheating" since there is no policing of the funds.
I've not made any decision yet on whether to add it in or not and your opinions here may very well sway my decision. I personally think the idea is cool, but I am not the kind of player who is willing to track it. I know that many people do this sort of thing already - so having it be acknowledged as part of the ESRPG gameplay could be pointless. However, I think it would certainly enrich things like health services so I'm not opposed to adding it into the official gameplay. I realize some of you may pitch the idea of making this optional - but is there a benefit to having it at all if it is technically already so?
Anyway, what're your thoughts on the idea?
