Silver's Music Maker has made it to our stable we are so grateful to own another beautiful horse from Jasmine.
I like talking about my rides with Patriot
Today's weather forecast was mildly cooler(by like 5 degrees) last week was horrible. The horses didn't go out at all it was just to hot for them and I kept my riding Patriot to a minimum because I didn't want to overheat him. I thought a short trail ride would be very rewarding for us since we worked hard last week and we'll be working hard tomorrow(Wednesday) because of our lessons. This was the event from today's short trail ride, and yes I used every ounce of my riding knowledge to keep my butt glued to that horse.
'Today was a great day to ride was a nice breeze and not too hot either.
Patriot and I went out towards the pond because there's a circled behind it that you can canter around. As we got closer to the pond I kicked him to a trot and then to a canter, we turned right for about 2 strides before he spins around and cuts to a different path that leads back to the stable. I lose my right stirrup and clinging onto his mane and reins trying to get him to walk but he's still cantering closing in to a gallop. Finally I sit myself back bracing to fall off and he slows down, his pace is still fast he wants to canter. I get my foot back into the stirrup still keeping the reins tight but he's fighting it. I kick him to trot and then again to canter. I decided the best chance I have is to just 2 point back to the trail parking lot so he can gallop and burn off all this pent up horse energy. As we near the parking lot he slows down to a trot I'm out of breath and he's just like 'lets go again'.
All I have to say is my stirrups are still to long after a shorten them!'
