The Folks of Richmond Hill
ELIZABETH WRIGHT - 29
Co-owner and manager of Richmond Hill
After graduating college, Elizabeth spent a few years as an editor on the staff of a literary magazine, where she met and married her husband Josh. The couple purchased a small property in the town of Great Bear, where they got their first horse together.
Elizabeth first began giving riding lessons to her best friend’s nephew, and other lessons followed over the years. Her big goofy dog, Rico, is always hit with the kids.
Elizabeth is quiet by nature, and has the deep reserve of patience required for working with children and animals. Though her love of reading and writing led to her study of English literature and theory in college, she's also an avid artist - most of the paintings hanging in the house are hers. She sells her artwork online as well as to her riding students and volunteers.
JOSH WRIGHT - 30
Co-owner of Richmond Hill
Josh grew up on a ranch as a child, his father taking to breeding quarter horses after retirement. He’s used to a large family (having three brothers, two sisters, and multiple nieces and nephews), so he's perfectly comfortable working with the groups of children who come in for lessons. He's also the brains behind the technical business aspects of Richmond Hill, thanks to his business based college major.
A hard worker with a fantastic sense of humor, Josh loves his job. A horse person for as long as he can remember, he also enjoys outdoor activities, especially camping and fly-fishing. He's generally the one to organize overnight trail rides and camping trips, and his enthusiasm for the trips always rubs off on the other riders.
