@roseholen Thank you! I had a lot of fun editing that one
@Scarlet Thank you!
I'm really excited for this update because I've gotten my hands on a few new horses lately and I'm finally getting to show them off and write about them. I'm hoping to do a little series so first up is Ducati from @paige
Autumn Part 2: Ducati REC
There is something so enticing, intimate about the haze of an autumn morning. Drawing tired horsewomen out of bed at dawn into a world of orange and yellow and red. Marcela always found herself up. Six in the morning. The same time every day, 365 days of the year. Though it seemed especially special come the fall. She usually found herself making rounds around the property. Turning out some horses, grooming others, and simply existing with them before retreating back to the house to the wonderfully noisy and squabbling lights of her life. As she stepped down the gravelly path she considered all that had happened in recent. She had been home now for nearly a month now after traveling so far to test a new mount. Her first competition mount in years.
She sighed aloud, watching the air condense in front of her. It was tiring raising two kids and a barnful of kids on four legs. And now picking up competition career back up? It terrified her. She couldn't possible take off and chase this dream, leaving her husband the children. It seemed selfish to her. With each step the thoughts swirled and clouded in her mind like the morning fog.
The muffled snuffs and knickers brought her back. Marcela found herself now at her destination, the pasture gate. She paused to look up before unlatching it. Up at the large red gelding silently calling out to her. She thought about her first ride on him miles and oceans away. How smooth he was, gentle and willing. For a just a bit, she felt home, a gentle hand outstretched as she stepped towards her new friend.
