Natalia had finally caved in. She'd flown across to Texas along with her stallion Radisson and was entering the Texas Rose Horse Show. Her trainer was insistent on it, they'd trained hard over the summer, she told Natalia there would be no reason for her to get up at bat crazy hours in the morning teaching and assisting the two of them unless she got herself out there and competed. Though reluctant, Natalia had been easy to persuade, she had to admit she felt her and Radisson were ready and the timing was right. She'd arrived in Texas looking like she'd been dragged through a hedge backwards, Natalia and flying didn't go too well together, and Natalia had cursed her trainer as she stumbled off the plane and fell flat on her face.
Later that day, Natalia stood beside her horse and grinned at him. "He's quite the looker," her trainer spoke sweetly and walked over to them. Natalia was mid-smooching Radisson's muzzle when Effie her trainer captured a photo of her doing so. "That one's a keeper," she'd laughed and Natalia marched over demanding to see the photo in a jokey manner. "Flight not so good, huh?" Effie laughed and Natalia scowled at her.

"Get off!" Natalia hissed, pushing one of the excitable barn dogs off of her knee. Her crisp, white jodphurs were now covered in dirt. "Stupid animal," she muttered, trying to clean herself up. Natalia was stressed. She hadn't been able to find her lorry keys where her tack was kept and had ended up finding them in the bottom of her boot when she went to pull it on.
Natalia was sat on Radisson outside the main jumping ring. She was watching a young, blond woman in the ring "Agatha Duckett riding Pether's Moon" was called over the intercom. Natalia gritted her teeth with anxiety, she tried to focus on her horse but couldn't stop watching the horse and rider and thinking it would be her next. Radisson stood resting his hind leg, he'd competed many times before and was no longer phased by the showing atmosphere, however Natalia stressed over everything. Suddenly, the crowd began to sigh and she looked up to rider in the ring to see her horse had knocked a pole. What a shame, she thought. She smiled as the rider passed her as she entered the ring at a trot. Gently, Natalia asked for canter and the stallion surged forward. Give it all you got, Natalia thought, whilst urging the stallion towards the first jump.
