Chapter One- Damp Beginnings
Cassandra puffed as she covered her face from the blowing rain.
Of course it would rain during the walk to the interview.
She stood in front of the store front for an hour before walking in, a soaked piece of paper jutting from her pockets.
I saw you had an opening for dishwasher?
A burly man with dark brown hair, late 30's came out, he was wiping his hands with a towel and clearly towered the poor girl in height. He was wearing a white chef's hat and furled his eyebrows at her question.
Sorry ma'am, it's filled. Maybe it was the other restaurant across town?
Pulling out the paper, Cassandra looked at the now illegible ad.
Of course at a time like this. It would rain, no, it would pour. Of course I can't even afford an umbrella after that swindler of a realtor sold me that junked up house. This was supposed to be a new life, not some continuation of the last one...
The man analysed Cassandra. Noticing she had soaking clothes, he peered outside and let out a small shiver. Turning back to her:
Hey miss? Miss? You seem to be having a hard time. How about we get you a hot cup of coffee and some breakfast on the house?
Cassandra's stomach grumbled. She looked sheepishly at the man, now knowing his name was Dave after glancing at his now visible name tag.
That'd be fantastic! thank you, Dave!
Chapter 2- A House, Job, and a Fridge?
Cassandra decided to go the science route instead of cooking, especially after she set her microwave on fire numerous times. She saw the ad for test subject and jumped at it.
Quickly excelling at her job, she was promoted in no time, even earning a 1000S so she could purchase her own fridge and toss out the mini one she had been scrounging and barely living on. She also participated in the local festivities, earning herself 1500 bucks on what the locals called "Rare Easter Eggs." She even kept 3 of them as souvenirs as well as a greeting card that was created.
She also had enough to start building outward. Even though she didn't have any doors or old windows, she was happy to see the beginnings of her now two bedroom house.
Chapter 3- University Life
Saving up enough money, Cassandra quickly enrolled herself into the university.
1450 bucks! Well, at least there's free room and board...
She worked hard, quickly excelling in the science and medical degree, quickly earning the connections she needed to further herself in her career.
She had been invited to many bonfire parties, always declining, always having her nose in the books. She loved the splicing machine, quickly splicing seeds, analysing rocks and minerals, working diligently to master the science and medicine degree at Simversity.
